More information on coaxial cable

 

Coaxial cable can be divided to baseband coaxial cable and broadband coaxial cable, (intent coaxial cable and video coaxial cable) by purposes. Also can be divided to 50Ω baseband cable and 75Ω broadband cable. There are thin and thick coaxial cable in baseband cable. Baseband coaxial cable is only used for digital transmission, data speed can reach 10Mbps.

 

There are four layers from inside to outside of coaxial cable: copper conductor, insulation, shield and outer sheath. Central conductor and shield makes a current circuit.

 

It is very import to pay attentions to the following six issues to determine the coaxial cable quality:

1. insulation material density;

2. the consistency of insulation material;

3. shield;

4. Al foil’s quality;

5. tightness of outer sheath;

6. circle shape of the finished products.
